Milgram (1933-1984) was an American social psychologist, best known for his controversial experiment on obedience conducted in the 1960s during his professorship at Yale.

Kohlberg (1927-1987) was an American psychologist best known for his theory of stages of moral development. He decided to study the topic of moral judgment, extending Jean Piaget's account of children's moral development.

Piaget (1896-1980) was a Swiss psychologist who placed great importance on the education of children known for his pioneering work in child development. He created the International Center for Genetic Epistemology in Geneva in 1955 and directed the Center until his death.
